It is a broadly described annual report of Eastland Insurance Company Limited in the year of 2011. During the financial year, The Company’s Gross premium income and net premium income stood at Tk. 550.16 million and Tk. 304.24 million registering a growth 13.29% and 12.04% respectively over the previous year. Pre-tax profit and after-tax profit registered a remarkable growth of 42.96% and 27.74% respectively. Total assets of the company stood at Tk. 1,317.35 million as at 31st December 2011 showing a growth of 19.30% than that of 2010. In the year of 2011, the company has settled 322 numbers of claims for Tk. 21,20,45,948/- on account of Fire, Marine, Motor and Miscellaneous insurance business.
The Board of Directors in its 138th Board Meeting held on 05.04.2012 recommended @40% cash dividend to the shareholders from the available profit during the year 2011. These financial statements are presented in Bangladesh Taka (Taka/Tk/BDT) which is the company’s functional currency. All financial information presented in Taka has been rounded off to the nearest Taka.
