The Company earned a pre-tax profit of Taka. 342.39 million in the financial year 2007-08 compared to that of Taka. 260.16 million during the previous fiscal year. A growth of 31.60% in net profit reflects the sound financial performance of the Company. The operating profit of the Company increased to Taka. 318.00 million in the fiscal 2007-2008 as against Taka. 260.16 million in the previous year showing a growth of 22%. The profit after tax for the year grew by 31% to Taka. 176.48 million. The total asset of the Company has increased Taka. 11,012.17 million from Taka. 9,818.93 million as compared to preceding year’s figure. DBH’s earning per share stood at Taka.72. This is 28.57 percent up than that of the previous year.
The Board of Directors recommended a 30% stock dividend i.e. 3 (three) bonus shares for every 10 (ten) shares for the financial year ended June 30, 2008. These financial statements are presented in Bangladesh Taka (Taka/Tk/BDT) which is the company’s functional currency.
