It is a broadly described annual report of Bangladesh Lamps Limited in the year of 2008. Profit for the year Taka. 55,319,149. The net sales of the Company increased to Taka.537.97 million, as compared to Taka.351.22 million in 2007, which registered a growth of 53.17 % over the previous year. During the year 2008, a total of 34.87 million GLS bulbs were produced, as against of 30.20 million pieces of bulbs during the corresponding period of 2007. Energy saving lamps (CFL), which was introduced at the end of 2007, achieved satisfactory growth in 2008 with the sales of 0.80 million pieces.
Keeping in view the satisfactory performance of the Company, the Board of Directors is pleased to recommend cash dividend of Taka. 35/- per share of Taka. 100/- each (i.e. 35%) for the year 2008. These financial statements are presented in Bangladesh Taka (Taka/Tk), which is the company’s functional currency.
