Vegetable farming is the growing of greens for human consumption. Traditionally it was done from the soil in little rows or hinders, often primarily for consumption within the farm, with the excess sold in nearby towns. Vegetables farming include: Fabaceae, Solanaceae, Brassicaceae, (onions, garlic, leek, shallot, chives), Carrots, Lettuce and cucurbit family of plants including melon, cantaloupe, cucumber, calabash, squash and pumpkin.
