Specialised Cells

Specialised Cells

General purpose of this lecture is to present on Specialised Cells. Some cells in multicellular organisms are modified to carry out a particular function, such as transporting a certain substance or executing a specific task. These cells are called specialized cells. In order for a cell to become specialised, a process called Differentiation occurs, where unspecialised cells (called Stem Cells) produce cells with specialised structures. Some common Specialised Cells are: White Blood Cell, Sperm Cell, Xylem, Red Blood Cell, Nerve Cell etc.
