A normal example of external shock resistant packaging is a ruggedized handheld scanner for use in a warehouse, or by way of a parcel delivery driver. Internal shock absorbing packaging is currently found on the inside of some high-end notebook compters – with smart sensing foam, that basically senses when the laptop has become dropped. This form of shock resistant packaging has even recently been taken one move further, and is currently not just incorporated into the packing box holding the goods. In some cases the goods themselves feature specific shock resistant materials on the outside, and in a number of cases the inside of the equipment.
