This is due to advances in the control power of computers, and the necessity to meet higher standards regarding noise control. There are two customs of building noise maps. Firstly, the definite noise data can be monitored at different positions in the investigation area. The data can then be plotted on the map. Otherwise, the noise levels can be predicted using data about road usage, and what kind of traffic is widespread in the area.
