The idea of Material feminism was used in 1975 by means of Christine Delphy. Material feminism highlights capitalism and patriarchy as core in understanding women’s oppression. The idea centers on social change as opposed to seeking transformation inside the capitalist system. Material Feminism partly originated from the work of French feminists, particularly Christine Delphy.
