This article talks about Magical Thinking, which refers to non-scientific beliefs and explanations that we make about the world around us. It may also be a symptom of a mental disorder. It is egocentric, subjective thinking lacking objectivity and preferring a narcissistic, inner, private reality to that with external validity. Magical thinking can cause a patient to experience fear of performing certain acts or having certain thoughts because of an assumed correlation between doing so and threatening calamities.
