Sampling is the process of selection of some part of an aggregate or totality on the basis of which a judgement or inference about the aggregate or totality is made. It is also viewed as the process of obtaining information about an entire population by examining only part of it. The assumption behind sampling is that the sample data enable one to estimate the population parameters.
