General objective of this lecture is to present on Light Waves. Light travels in the form of electromagnetic waves. It spreads out in all directions from its source and travels in straight lines called rays. Light travels at the “speed of light”: 186,282 miles per second or 299,792 kilometers per second. Like all types of light, visible light is emitted and absorbed in tiny “packets” called photons and exhibits properties of both waves and particles.
