Environmental Impact Assessment is the process by which the anticipated effects on the environment of a proposed development or project are measured. If the likely outcomes are improper, plan measures or other pertinent alleviation measures can be taken to decrease or avoid those effects. Environmental impact assessment is the proper process used to forecast the ecological consequences of an arrangement, strategy, program, or project prior to the decision to move forward with the projected action.
