Electric power transmission is the majority transfer of electrical energy, from generating electrical power plants to electric powered substations located close to demand centers. This is distinct from the local wiring between high-voltage substations and customers, which is typically called electric power submitting. Transmission lines, when interconnected with one another, become transmission sites.
