Economic surplus refers two related levels. Consumer surplus or consumer’s surplus is the monetary gain purchased by consumers because they will purchase a product for just a price that is lower than the highest price that they would be prepared pay. Producer surplus is the amount that companies benefit by selling for a market price that is higher than minimal that they would be willing to promote for; this is roughly add up to profit.
