Cosmic dirt was once exclusively an annoyance to help astronomers, as it obscures objects they would like to observe. Cosmic dust may be further distinguished by simply its astronomical place: intergalactic dust, interstellar dirt, interplanetary dust (such just as the zodiacal cloud) as well as circumplanetary dust.
