The term business cluster had been introduced and popularized by Michael Porter in the Competitive Advantage of Nations (1990). A business cluster is a geographic concentration connected with interconnected businesses, companies, and associated institutions in a particular field. Clusters are considered to increase the actual productivity with which in turn companies can compete, nationally and internationally.
