Benchmarking is usually a measurement of the products an organization’s procedures, products, programs, techniques, etc., and their comparison with standard measurements, or similar measurements of the peers. The objectives associated with benchmarking are (1) to discover what and in which improvements are requested, (2) to analyze how other organizations achieve their high performance levels, and (3)to make use of this information to boost performance.
