It is a broadly described annual report of Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited (DESCO) in the year of 2016. During the financial year, The Company’s Net profit was Tk. 44.61 Crore last year whereas the profit of previous year was Tk. 163 Crore. The EPS is Tk. 1.12, Net Asset Value per share Tk. 37.04 and Net Operating Cash Flow per Share Tk. 8.23 for last financial as against Tk. 4.11, Tk. 32.53 and Tk. 7.88 respectively for the previous financial year. Considering sales at Tk. 31,478.24 million and collection at Tk. 31,900.05 million, the billing collection ratio works out at 101.34% and the Collection/Import (C.I.) ratio to 93.21% this financial year.
Based on the performance of the Company, the Board of Directors recommends @10% cash dividend for the financial year 2015-16. These financial statements are presented in Bangladesh Taka (Taka/Tk/BDT) which is the company’s functional currency. All financial information presented in Taka has been rounded off to the nearest Taka.
