It is a broadly described annual report of MJL Bangladesh Limited in the year of 2012. MJL Bangladesh Ltd. has deposited BDT 294.41 million to government exchequer as withholding tax and corporate tax in the year 2012. The Company has also deposited BDT 1,088.91 million as VAT in the year 2012. During the year 2012, MJLBL generated gross revenue of approximately BDT 6,994.32 million. Gross profit was BDT 1,326.67 million compared to BDT 1,130.75 million in last year. MJLBL has attained net profit after tax of BDT 651.21 million in the year 2012 compared to BDT 636.78 million in the year 2011. Cost of revenue was BDT 5,667.66 million in the year 2012 compared to BDT 4,886.53 million of the previous year. Even though the overall revenue increased by 16.24% but growth in after-tax profit was only 2.27%. Earnings per share stood at BDT 2.73 in 2012 as against 2.67 in 2011.
The Board of Directors of MJL Bangladesh Limited has recommended 25% cash dividend for the calendar year 2012. These financial statements are presented in Bangladesh Taka (Taka/Tk/BDT) which is the company’s functional currency.
