It is a broadly described annual report of Vedanta Limited (Formerly known as Sesa Sterlite Ltd.) in the year of 2011. During the financial year, Total assets of the Company stood at Rs. 29,422.79 Crore. Total income of the Company stood at Rs. 17,215.09 Crore. During the year under review, the gross turnover of the Company increased by 18.85% from Rs. 13,676.47 Crore to Rs. 16,253.88 Crore. The Company posted Profit before Tax for the year Rs. 1,874.28 Crore. During the year under review, the Company earned the profit after tax Rs. 1,419.71 Crore as compared with previous year net profit of Rs. 831.50 Crore. Basic and diluted earnings per share of the company for the year were Rs. 4.22 & Rs. 3.81.
The Board of Directors of the Company was pleased to recommend a dividend of Rs. 1.10 per equity share of Rs. 1/- each (i.e. @110%) for the financial year 2010-11.
