It is a broadly described annual report of Prime Bank Limited in the year of 2010. PBL’s total assets increased by Taka. 27.99 billion and stood at Taka. 152.80 billion as at end of December 2010 indicating a growth of 22.43 percent. PBL’s Operating revenue increased by 18.12 percent to Tk. 9.68 billion in 2010 compared to Tk. 8.20 billion in 2009. After making above provisions, net profit before tax of PBL stood at Tk. 5,538 million registering a growth of 20.68 percent. Provision against current year income tax of PBL was Tk. 2,285 million compared to Tk. 1,735 million of the preceding year. Deferred tax increased to Tk. 250 million from Tk. 70 million of the previous year. Net profit after tax stood at Tk. 3,003 million registering a growth of 7.87 percent during 2010. Weighted average Earnings per Share increased to Tk. 5.69 (after the split) as at 31st December 2010 from Tk. 5.44 in the previous year. The market value of bank’s share stood at Taka. 54,572 million whereas the book value of the shares stood at Taka. 16,769 million, resulting from a Market Value Addition of Taka. 37,803 million as of 31st December 2010 before the split.
Considering the performance of the bank over the past year, the Board has recommended a stock dividend of @35% and a cash dividend of @5% for the year 2010. These financial statements are presented in Bangladesh Taka (Taka/Tk/BDT) which is the company’s functional currency. All financial information presented in Taka has been rounded off to the nearest Taka.
