It is a broadly described annual report of Basic Bank Limited in the year of 2008. During the financial year, The Bank’s Total Deposits grew from Tk. 31,947.98 million to Tk. 38,368.23 million, an increase of 20.09%. Total assets reached Tk. 46,651.53 million at year-end compared to Tk. 38,773.91 million the previous year, increased by 20.32%. After-tax consolidated net income for 2008 was Tk. 549.95 million compared to Tk. 282.96 million in 2007, 94.35% higher and very strong in the current eminent environment.
The Board of Directors of the Bank is pleased to propose to its sole shareholder, the Ministry of Finance, subject to the approval of the Annual General Meeting, 1 (one) bonus share is against every 9 shares amounting to Tk. 145.50 million and @11.07% cash dividend amounting to Tk. 145.00 million subjects to the approval of the Bangladesh Bank.
