Nazrul Jayanti was held at Capital of Dhaka and other districts with much grandeur from 24-25 May. A two day’s elaborate program was arranged on this celebration District Commissioner Manjurur Rahman inaugurated the program while the UNO of, (Area name)…. chaired it.
(Area Name)….. is the place that was graced by the presence of the great poet. He composed some of his greatest literary pieces here. During the two day program, a seminar was held on the life and works of the poet. Prof. ……(Name) of ……(Institution name) presented the keynote paper. The program included recitation from the great poet’s poetry, singing Nazrul Geeti and performing dramas written by him. On a discussion meeting on the second day of the program, a lot of famous poets and writers, distinguished educationists and journalists delivered their speeches. (Name)….., vice-principal of (Institution name)….., in his/her speech demanded the establishment of a Nazrul-Nargis University at ….(Area name) in memory of the great rebel poet and his first love.
On this occasion, Nazrul Academy set up a bookstall that displayed and sold all their publications on Nazrul as well as the publications of his literary pieces. Different spots of the historic ‘Khan Bari’ (residence of late Ali Akbar Khan) were also opened for public visits during the program.
