The finer points of Forza Motorsport’s technical architecture are beginning to emerge as the game’s official next-gen release later this year draws nearer. While the Xbox Series X version of the game has received most of the spotlight attention so far, a new support page update has provided some further information about how the new Forza will function on Xbox Series S.

Forza Motorsport will run at 1080p/60FPS on Xbox Series S, according to the game’s creator Turn 10 Studios, while Xbox Series X will support 4K/60FPS.

The FAQ website also includes a ton of other technical information about the game, most of which we first learned about during the Developer Direct event in January and the Xbox Summer Showcase last year.

Although the development team hasn’t explicitly stated so, we would anticipate that Xbox Series S will support the game’s ray tracing features given that it was created from the ground up for Microsoft’s current-generation consoles. It appears that the new Forza is based on ray-tracing technology given the presence of both global illumination and ray-traced reflections. Go for it!
