Thanks to its robust editing feature and an abundance of sketching tools, Adobe Photoshop has long been one of the most popular applications used by digital artists. Users no longer need to sketch or modify each and every tiny detail thanks to the most recent Stability AI plugin. Instead, with just a few strokes and a few quick text instructions, they can quickly add AI-generated components or changes to projects straight from within Photoshop.
Stable Diffusion’s Photoshop plugin enables you to make, modify, and refine AI pictures from within Photoshop, as demonstrated by @mrgreen on Twitter. The accompanying movie shows how the plugin can produce artwork that fits a quick cue and a few hazy brush strokes on a document.
For example, creating a new document, entering “mountain range” into the text prompt window, and selecting Generate results in a list of mountain range choices for users to select.
Users of Photoshop can also quickly modify or add comprehensive information to an original prompt by using the Stability AI plugin (which opens in a new browser). This is shown in the video that @mrgreen shared by overlaying a crimson dragon over a mountain range picture. This was accomplished in a matter of minutes rather than hours by quickly painting red lines in the sky, picking the region around the red strokes, entering “red dragon” into the Prompt box, hitting Generate, and then choosing from the choices that showed.
However, the Stability AI component is more than a digital sketching tool. It can also make sophisticated picture edits that appear very lifelike. As @mrgreen demonstrates in another video, rapidly choosing the area around a woman’s head and entering a text window enables users to alter the woman’s hair color or reduce her hair in seconds. The plugin’s capabilities were demonstrated further by altering the hue of the woman’s attire and putting her in a different background scene.
Creating digital art and editing photos can take hours of precious time, so having a quick tool that achieves the same outcomes will free up artists to work on more projects. Additionally, it gives users who might not have as powerful Photoshop abilities the opportunity to create.
