Social engagement takes a different approach from the idea from a social system, as social network focuses on a group, as opposed to the activity. They note the change between social engagement and social cash, the latter looked as “resources available to individuals and groups through their sociable connections to communities”. Social engagement (also sociable involvement, social participation) describes one’s degree of participation within a community or culture.
