Prime purpose of this lecture is to present on Air Masses. Air Masses are a large body of air that has properties similar to the part of the Earth’s surface over which it develops. It is a body of air with horizontally uniform levels of temperature, humidity, and pressure. it is an extremely large body of air whose properties of temperature and moisture content (humidity), at any given altitude, are fairly similar in any horizontal direction; it can cover hundreds of thousands of square miles and there can be small variations.
