Porters generic strategies are ways of gaining competitive advantage – in other words, developing the “edge” that will gets you the particular sale and takes it faraway from your competitors. Porters generic strategies describe what sort of company pursues cut-throat advantage across the chosen market opportunity. There are three/four simple strategies, either lower cost, differentiated, or emphasis.
