Vigorous noise control (ANC), also recognized as noise cancellation, or active noise decrease (ANR), is a technique for decreasing unwanted sound by the adding of a second sound particularly intended to cancel the first. Noise control or noise mitigation is a set of strategies to decrease noise pollution or to reduce the impact of that noise, whether outdoors or indoors.
