The hobby is the favorite pastime of a person in his leisure time. It is not his regular business. There are many kinds of hobbies. Foreign stamp collecting, coin collecting, gardening, fishing, reading books, traveling, etc. are some of the leading hobbies. Like others, I also have a hobby of my own. My favorite hobby is reading books. I read all kinds of good books, magazines, newspapers, etc. I am to read some books for my examination as well. I read them with much attention. But when I get leisure or spare time, I start reading other books I like. I feel happy if I get a new book every day. I read novels, fairy tales, adventure stories, detective novels, poems, science fictions, essays, etc. Reading books keep one always happy and busy. It is a good source of enjoyment, knowledge, inspiration, and instruction. It makes us disciplined, loyal, punctual and most importantly a successful person in life. I do not like to waste time in idle gossiping. I treat the books as my friends as they delight me even at the time of my danger and loneliness. I spend about an hour every day reading books. I enjoy very much reading any kind of good books. Good and interesting books are like best friends of the one who like to read. The one who does not have this habit may possess worldly wealth but he/she would always be poor because of the lack of wealth of true knowledge. The habit of reading books can be acquired at a young age by anyone. I also acquire knowledge from my reading books. It helps me broaden my outlook. So a man must have a hobby that gives immense pleasure, knowledge and that removes the pangs of loneliness. Books tend to be man’s first best friend and so is with me. This habit can be adapted at any stage of life.
