Mutual aid is perhaps as ancient as human culture; an intrinsic section of the small, communal communities universal to humanity’s ancient past. From the dawn of human race, until far beyond the invention of agriculture, humans had been foragers, exchanging labor along with resources for the advantages of groups and persons alike. Mutual aid is a term in organization theory helpful to signify a non-reflex reciprocal exchange of resources and products and services for mutual help.
