Memory and Aging is important to understand that our brains change over time, and it is helpful to be able to distinguish normal changes from those that require medical and psychological attention. Memory loss is qualitatively different in normal aging from the kind of memory loss associated with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s. In terms memory and aging the course of memory changes across the adult life span, results from cross-sectional and longitudinal studies suggest that subtle memory changes can begin as early as the early or middle stems from the observation that there is a disconnection between degree of brain pathology.
