Major objective of this lecture is to present on What is Literature. Literature is a term used to describe written and sometimes spoken material. Elements of literature: Form; Expression; Ideas; Widespread and Lasting Interest. Here briefly describe on the Major Genres of literature: Prose; Poetry and Drama. Prose imitates the spoken language. Poetry is language written with rhythm, figurative language, imagery, sound devices and emotionally charged language. Drama is a story written to be performed by actors.
