Main purpose of this lecture is to presentation on Tidal Energy. Here explain Tidal Energy in physics perspective. Generally tidal power facilities harness the energy from the rise and fall of tides. This lecture also explain two types of tidal plant facilities, they are Tidal barrages and Tidal current turbines. Tidal Energy’s ideal sites are located at narrow channels and experience high variation in high and low tides. Tidal current turbines consists of a rotor, gearbox and a generator. These three parts are mounted onto a support structure. Finally explain pros and cons of both tidal power facilities.
