Primary objective of this lecture is to present on Mirages. Mirages are caused by the refracting properties of a non-uniform atmosphere. It is an optical illusion caused by atmospheric conditions, especially the appearance of a sheet of water in a desert or on a hot road caused by the refraction of light from the sky by heated air. Several examples of mirages include seeing “puddles” ahead on a hot highway or in a desert and the lingering daylight after the sun is below the horizon.
