Basic purpose of this lecture is to present on DNA Structure. The full name of DNA, deoxyribonucleic acid, gives you the name of the sugar present – deoxyribose. Deoxyribose is a modified form of another sugar called ribose. DNA consists of two molecules that are arranged into a ladder-like structure called a Double Helix. A molecule of DNA is made up of millions of tiny subunits called Nucleotides. Each nucleotide consists of: Phosphate group; Pentose sugar and Nitrogenous base.
