Land Temperature Soared to 48°C in the Arctic Circle this Month

If you head to the Arctic this summer, don’t forget your sunscreen and shorts. According to the European Union’s Copernicus program, Verkhoyansk, a Siberian city in the Arctic Circle, was detected at 48 degrees Celsius (116 degrees Fahrenheit) this month, with two more months to go.
