How to kick the 10 worst startup habits with Fuel Capital’s Leah Solivan

Fuel Capital General Partner Leah Sullivan joined us at TechCrunch Early 2021 to talk about how to avoid mistakes in the early stages of building your startup. Sullivan has considerable experience on both sides of the fence, as he founded TaskRabbit and managed to exit it in 2017 through the acquisition of IKEA. He shared a list of 10 to avoid 10 but here are a few highlights of what to look.

Sullivan urged the founders not to be embarrassed about sharing their ideas, as some people may be secretive about their initial ideas. Leaving your idea somehow means that you will participate in more competitions in the end not a legitimate concern, instead, sharing that idea with as many people as possible is more likely to have a positive outcome than a negative one. I cannot tell you how many times I will present. In addition, after the presentation someone will come up to oh and say, me my God, I got the same idea for TaskRabbit as I did 10 years ago.

In addition, I want to be good! What did you do with this idea? In addition, I think the key point is that the idea is not magic in itself. The magic is in the implementation of your idea and that idea turns into business.
