Environmental determinism is the fact that the physical atmosphere predisposes human sociable development towards certain trajectories. A nineteenth- and early twentieth-century method of the study of geography argued how the general laws searched for by human geographers may be found in physical sciences. Geography, therefore, became focused on the study of the way the physical environment damaged, or even brought about, human culture and activities.
