Employee referral programs have long since gained widespread acceptance as a key hiring tool which can help the organization grow while saving money on recruitment costs. However the impact that each referral program is able to have on recruitment varies highly depending on how well the referral program is envisioned and implemented in the organization. The more successful employee referral programs tend to have some common traits and characteristics which distinguish them from the less successful counterparts. Organizations struggling with referral programs that are not able to make a significant impact on hiring would do well to incorporate some of these traits to boost their own referral programs.
