General objective of this lecture is to present Data Link Layer Design Issues; here major focus on Services Provided to the Network Layer, Framing, Error Control and Flow Control. This lecture also summarized on functions of the Data Link Layer; which includes: Provide service interface to the network layer, Dealing with transmission errors and Regulating data flow. Finally discuss on Services Provided to Network Layer, Elementary Data Link Protocol, Sliding Window Protocols etc.
