Creative Writing is an art, which is sorts of – the art of making things up. It is typically identified by an emphasis on narrative craft, character development, and the use of literary tropes or with various traditions of poetry and poetics. It is most popularly understood to be writing that comes from the imagination, writing that is ‘not true‘. It is believed to focus on students’ self-expression. It is considered by some academics to be an extension of the English discipline, even though it is taught around the world in many languages. Creative writing remains in essence a fiction and makes no actual claim to the facts.
