It has long been recognized that individuals often fail to work together to achieve some group goal or common good. When individuals engage in collective action, the strength of the group’s resources, knowledge and efforts is combined to reach a goal shared by all parties. Collective Action is a term that has formulations and theories in many areas of the social sciences including psychology, sociology, anthropology, political science and economics.
