An IP Camera is fundamentally a digital video camera that is designed to activate on a data network using Internet Protocols. They are sometimes merely referred to as Network Cameras, as they are designed chiefly as a networking unimportant device with a digital video capacity. The real term IP Camera is usually reserved for a camera whose main task is that of surveillance.
