General purpose of this lecture is to present on Characters of Pride and Prejudice. Some characters are: Darcy: Generally serious and formal, yet simple, clear and restrained. Elizabeth Bennet: Intelligent, with wit in her speech that ranges in style from playfully humorous to argumentative to the coldly formal. Mr Bennet: Mr Bennet’s sarcastic wit is the main feature of a man who has withdrawn from active involvement in his marriage. Jane Bennet: Jane’s clear, balanced speech shows frequent use of positives in her praise of everyone which reflects her characteristic “fault” of never “seeing a fault in anyone.”
