A business rule is a statement that describes a company policy or process. Business rules tend to be expressed at this atomic level — which is, they cannot be broken down any further. A business rule is some sort of rule that identifies or constrains some area of business and always resolves to either true or false. Business rules are designed to assert business structure as well as to control or affect the behavior in the business.
