Basic objective of this lecture is to present on Blood Sugar. The mean normal blood glucose level in humans is about 5.5 mmol/L (100 mg/dL); however, this level fluctuates throughout the day. Here also briefly explain how the blood glucose concentration is regulated by negative feedback control mechanisms, with reference to insulin and glucagon. Finally discuss the importance of homeostasis in mammals, and explain the principles of homeostasis in terms of receptors, effectors and negative feedback.
