Arctic Methane Release

Arctic Methane Release

Arctic methane release may be the release of methane from seas and soils in permafrost regions of the Arctic. While the long-term natural process, it may be exacerbated by global increased temperatures. This results in a positive feedback effect, as methane is itself a strong greenhouse gas. The feedback from the undisturbed process is equally weak, however, because the neighborhood release leads to a warming spread in the whole globe.
