Vehicular homicide is an offense that, in common, involves the death of an individual other than the driver as a consequence of either criminally careless or murderous operation of a vehicle. The former case and the more familiar conviction of unintentional vehicular homicide are recognized as vehicular manslaughter. It is similar to the crime of hazardous driving causing death in several countries.
