There is even worse news for the former president as his second impeachment trial begins. In a new interview with CNBC’s Squawk Box, Ned Segal, Twitter’s chief financial officer, gave a statement about how the company would manage Trump’s Twitter account in the end. Segal did not comment verbally in response to a question about what would happen if Trump ran again and elected.
“The way our policies work, when you are removed from the platform, you will be removed from the platform – whether you are a commentator, you are a CFO, or you are a former or current government official,” Segal said. “Remember, our policies are designed to ensure that people do not incite violence, and if anyone does, we must remove them from their service and our policies do not allow people to return.”
Twitter banned Trump from his platform a month ago, expressing concern about the “risk of further violence”. Trump’s role in inciting the U.S. Capitol invasion ultimately sealed his fate on the platform of his choice, where he spent four years exposing his followers, widening the conspiracy and swaying his critics. The senior executive said on Wednesday that the issue of Donald Trump’s ban from the social media platform Twitter would continue even if he ran for the White House again – even if he won again.

News came that Trump’s impeachment trial was underway in the Senate, alleging that he had instigated the revolt with his inflammatory zeal at a rally in Washington in January before a murderous mob violated U.S. capital.
When he cursed last year, his tweeter criticism, although then and now he has refused to appear in court in his own defense. This time around, with Trump’s Twitter account shut down, the prosecution is proceeding without such online hacking. Only if Trump convicted of his impeachment can barred from running for federal office again in the next vote. Perhaps he can run for president again if he acquitted.
Twitter took unprecedented steps to ban Trump from the platform after the Capitol uprising, with the agency saying they were suspending Trump permanently “because of the risk of further incitement to violence.” Shortly before that, Twitter had already temporarily locked Trump’s account on top of several tweets that he said contributed to the increased risk of violence.
